“Political Landscape/Landscape in Motion” invites viewers to consider the diverse facets of urban and rural landscapes, as well as agricultural fields, through a variety of perspectives.
The collection features a range of images, both personal and global in nature, from near and far, which collectively weave the intricate tapestry of our landscape. Every landscape is political. A pastoral view from afar might be indicative of an area of conflict on the ground. Borders that are not visible from a bird’s eye view become the subject of conflict from up close.
Political landscapes are always in motion.
The project consists of six large-format paintings (3 metres x 1.5 metres) that mirror each other and are painted simultaneously on and under each canvas. In addition, the project comprises paintings based on photographs taken during journeys, as well as a series of linoleum prints created after Oct 7.
